My name is Cliff Crabe. I am an artist. I will paint just about anything I can photograph. My medium is colour pencil and I love it.

Typically, my paintings tell stories. I really enjoy historical pieces, but I find portraits the most challenging and rewarding.

WHY COLOUR PENCIL?

While I have used many media I have focused on colour pencil. Unlike paint that has a liquid state colour pencils have their pigment suspended in a wax medium which allows me to go on location and quickly setup and tear down.

I don’t have to wait for liquid paint to dry I can complete my paintings faster — usually about 7-10 days.
